Iriki National Park – An adventure in the heart of the Moroccan desert
In southern Morocco, between Zagora and Tata, lies the majestic Iriki National Park, an ideal destination for lovers of nature, silence, and the vast Saharan landscapes. Created in 1994, this park covers more than 120,000 hectares of breathtaking scenery: golden dunes, arid plains, and the ancient Iriki Lake, which reappears after the rains to welcome pink flamingos and other migratory birds!
Visitors can discover unique flora and fauna adapted to the desert climate: Dorcas gazelles, fennec foxes, tamarisk trees, and acacias dot this wild landscape!
The park is also a land of history, once traversed by the trans-Saharan trade caravans connecting Timbuktu to the Moroccan cities!
Today, Iriki National Park invites visitors to experience ecotourism: birdwatching, 4x4 excursions, bivouacs under the stars, and encounters with the nomadic tribes who perpetuate an ancestral way of life!
A true gem of southern Morocco, Iriki National Park offers an unforgettable experience, combining adventure, nature, and Saharan culture!
